The V Argentine and I Latin-American Symposium on Antarctic Research, will be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from August 30 to September 3, 2004.

These meetings are held since 1987 and in this occasion they take part in various events scheduled in commemoration of 100 years of the Argentina science presence in Antarctica, since the operation of the Meteorological and Magnetic Observatory at Laurie Island, on February 22, 1904.
