The Director of the Instituto Antártico Argentino, Dirección Nacional del Antártico, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship, Argentina Republic, has the pleasure of announcing the realization of the V Argentine and I Latin-American Symposium on Antarctic Research, to be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from August, 30 to September 3, 2004.

These meetings are held since 1987 and in this occasion they take part in various events scheduled in commemoration of 100 years of the Argentina science presence in Antarctica, since the occupation of the Meteorological and Magnetic Observatory at Laurie Island, on February 22, 1904.

This invitation is extensive to all organizations related with Antarctic activities, either national or international, with which we share different cooperation and research programmes and specially to researchers from Latin-American Antarctic countries.
