Event: Time for every presentation will be 15 minutes, and 5 minutes for discussion.
Papers should be submitted as:
- Communications: concerning ongoing works, up to 1 page, without references.
- Abstracts: of completed scientific works, up to 4 pages, including bilingual abstract, text, tables, pictures, figures and references.
Languages: Spanish, English, and Portuguese
Format instruction:
- A4 page, one side of paper
- Margins: Upper and lower margin: 3 cm, side margins 2.5 cm
- Fonts: 12ppt (Titles), Arial, 11ppt (Text)
- 1.5-line-spacing
- Text processor: Word 97/2000
Papers outside the specified lenght and formatting requirements will be rejected without review.

Deadline for submission of papers has been postponed until May 17
Papers will be reviewed by an ad hoc committee, and 2 hard copies should be sent.
After their acceptation, papers will be sent in hard copy and diskette.
Manuscript organization:
- Title: capitals, centred, bold letters. Scientific names in Italics.
Double line spacing
Authors: First letter in capitals, centred, without abbreviations, followed by a superindex, to indicate the Institution
Affiliation: left margin justified, including Institution name and address, and author e-mail. Double line spacing
Keywords: left margin justified, bilingual. Double line spacing
Text: Tabulator 1 cm
Introduction, Materials and Method, Conclusions, and Bibliography should be included separated by a double line spacing
For bibliographic quotation included in the text, the following convention should be used:
One author: (Epstein, 1998), two authors (Hoyos & Zhang, 2000) three or more authors (Van Camp et al, 1998)
List of bibliographic quotations in alphabetic order and according to the following format:

Submission of papers
Papers will be received at the Symposium Secretariat not later than 10 May 2004 and they will be reviewed by an Ad Hoc Committee. Two hard copies should be sent.
Notification of acceptance will be sent by e-mail to the principal author.

Types of presentation
Papers can be submitted as an oral communication or poster, by indicating their preference on the registration form. Presentation way shall be considered by the Symposium Authorities, according to time and location availabilities. The Author will be informed about this decision.
Registration
A registration form shall be sent by each Author and/or attendant, as soon as possible in order to facilitate the agenda Symposium via mail or e-mail.
Technical support needed for presentation shall be indicated (Power Point, transparences projector, etc.). Authors will be informed about support availabilities.
Poster presentation
After having received the registration form with the preference of poster presentation, and according to location availabilities, the author will be informed about size required. This information will be displayed on the Symposium website
